The only thing I genuinely like about this movie is Aang"s tatoo. “Children” cartoons just dont go this hard anymore. Blood-bending beats it all. Still wasn"t bad as Dragonball: Evolution. Avatar: The Last Budget. I love this series. What you are commentating on is from an adults perspective. Remember this show was meant for teens. The Scene where The Captain was thrown overboard, I think it was meant to be funny as opposed to that of Azula. Avatar was a series which showed growth of a teenager who doesn"t realise the weight of the hopes being placed on him. And IMO, it has been done fantastically. Didnt have the budget for the giant spirit part eh. Instead a big wave. ugh. I kinda wished they wouldve kept the show going a little longer until Zuko found his mother. I know they made a couple of books about it, but wouldve loved to see the actual show do it. For me the Avatar just became fabulous the moment Toph came in, and was really great for the rest xD.

I watched this show as a kid. Binge watched it when I was about 16 (i realized it was great then. Now I just rewatched it on Netflix as a 23 year old. Wow... I probably cried 10 times throughout the series. After going through real life heartbreak and issues Avatar hits different. Zuko and Uncle Iroh made the show for me as an adult. Aang: I don"t even smile in that movie! Sokka and Katara: Smile? They got our race wrong! Zuko: They got my race wrong too and I don"t even have a scar! I was pretty hyped to see this from the trailer, as I have loved Scooby Doo since I was a child. I am 30 now. After viewing, I have to say that my expectations were met. It"s definitely awkward in some ways as we see young Shaggy using a cell phone, listening to 90"s music, despite being an origin story (you"d think they might be set in the 50"s or 60"s) but with those gripes aside, I still thought this was a cute and funny move overall.
The animation style was nice and clean and none of the characters were changed too much. I thought the voice actors did a great job overall. I thought the script and humor were cute, quick-witted, and funny. Ultimately, yes, this doesn"t feel like a Scooby Doo classic episode as the mystery is pushed into the background and it"s more along the lines of a superhero movie like The Incredibles for instance, with many Hannah-Barbera characters making an appearance. But for what it"s worth, I do not regret purchasing the movie. It was only 5 more than to rent, so I figured I"d make the leap.
I feel I"ll revisit for the script and humor for sure, but just don"t go into it expecting the gang to tackle a mystery and I think everyone will enjoy it, despite the flaws in the continuity.

Another CGI "product" that chucks out all of the charm of the original in favour of contemporary post-modern gibberish and self-referential jokes that do nothing but make all of the characters smug and unlikeable. I wish this was a cartoon. I wish it had a spooky mystery at its heart. I wish it was Scooby Doo. 7:46 wait IS SCOOB THERE IN REAL LIFE? HIS SHADOW IS THERE AND EVERYTHING! One of the biggest Scooby-Doo fans out there. I personally like the today"s culture in the film but wish it retained more of the classic elements of any other Scooby-Doo film/show. Then use Flashpoint to completely wipe the slate clean, keep what worked, change what didn"t and then actually start a shared universe that might actually rival Marvel. Don"t copy Marvel but learn from them. Flashpoint is the perfect story to do a reset or rebirth if you will.

I swear I wonder how Bane can be a threat sometimes when in some adaptations, Batman can cut his venom supply really easily. As for Superman fighting Metallo, well the movie did establish that Metallo did lose to him at many points.

So, let me start off saying that I do like all of the DCEU movies in their own way. I don"t really care what critics have to say, I just make my own view. As I have written in other reviews, my favorite of the DCEU is Man of Steel, but I appreciate all of them.
Also, in regards to Marvel, I also like some of those movies. I didn"t like Guardians of the Galaxy 2 or Spiderman Homecoming, I really thought Justice League was better, but Thor: Ragnarok takes the spot for the best comic book movie of the year. Don"t let it deter you from seeing this one though, as Justice League is still good!
For this movie I will give the good and the bad:
The Good:
1. The Characters. Wonder Woman and Batman are great, as usual. The Flash is funny and Aquaman is awesome. Can"t wait for his movie. Cyborg is interesting. A character who will not be named is great as well. They all work really well together and really make this movie special.
2. Comic book moments. There are a lot of good comic book moments to like here. The references are good. I think an improvement that they made was the actual comic book type stuff as this wasn"t as apparent in Batman V. Superman
3. The ships. I ship Diana and Bruce together. They obviously dropped a lot of hints that I really dug. Can"t wait until the ship has finally sailed. I ship Lois and Clarke obviously. A bit disappointing, but I liked what I got.
4. The continuity. I liked that this movie connected to Batman V. Superman. In a lot of ways, this is the third movie in a trilogy. While you will feel like you are missing some things, there is some continuation here.
The Bad:
1. The plot. There is really not much to see here.
2. The villain. Very weak villain. No high stakes. It also felt like he was delivering his lines to a green screen instead of to the Justice League.
3. The CGI. Probably the worst of the negatives. Everything was CGI"d. The worst would probably be SteppenWolf. Why did he look like that?
4. Bad editing. Man, this movie was all over the place. There was one scene that really irked me. Wonder Woman was wearing her costume and she walks in the next shot with something else on. When did that happen? lol.
5. Many scenes in the trailers not in the movie. I am sure we will get an extended cut, which I am eagerly awaiting. It felt like a good 30 minutes was probably cut and I"m sad that we didn"t see it. Can"t wait for the Blu-ray.
6. The music. What I liked about the other DCEU movies was the soundtrack. This movie didn"t really have anything memorable with sound except the song in the credits. I missed that about BvS and Man of Steel. DC, please fix for other movies!
Overall, if you are a fan of comics or the other movies, go see it. It is a fun time, which is what people expect from something like this. One thing, before I am done, is that I wanted to comment on the DCEU, in general. Yes, they have received poor critical reception, with Wonder Woman having great reception, and this movie is no different. However, we can"t really judge this movie now, because this movie was already done with and shot. The real course correction won"t happen until Aquaman. In fact, Justice League was shot before Wonder Woman and spent a long time in post production. There really wasn"t much they could do. I will say that there are some changes in here that will show the better movies to come.
Also, this is not the real "Justice League" movie. Everyone knows that. The real one will come when Justice League 2 happens. I do believe that DC knows how to fix their issues (CGI may take some time) but I am hopeful. This movie does show that there is a bright future. Go see it.
